Vostal plucked the girl up from the back entrance to the maze and pushed her forward. "Read the magic barriers and take us west." the demand could have been a little more venomous or threatening but he didn't have the time for theatrics and was in a hurry. Sighing he rubbed his fingers back through his hair. Was it possible to make this move along any faster? He'd collected as much strength as he could, had a navigator, a good reason to do what he was... It was only fitting that he wake her now while the phantasmal was happening. With everyone distracted, there was no chance of anyone trying to stop him. Even the infamous Negumi was out of his way.

"Umm... West?" I said thinking... I remembered what Quin said perfectly, almost as if it were an enhanced memory. "So were going the opposite to go out. Presumably." I say following the markers. At a moment's notice, I am perfectly content with turning around and hauling ass the moment Illya returns. I actually begin to pick up the pace. I'd rather not be closer to the kidnapper then I should.

Following the markers perfectly, I begin to jog.

Black whistles. "Nothing like chasing a wagging tail in front of you," he mumbled to himself keeping true to his lecherous ways if only for a moment before taking off after her. He had to hand it to the girl, she was going to be one of his favorite hostages. "You shouldn't get too far ahead," his bark resounded when she rounded a corner out of his sight for a few moments before he too reached the curl in their path, "I won't be able to protect you from what lies ahead if you keep slipping away from me."
Nema...
He didn't bother to tell his little hoover tracker that at the center of the labyrinth the lone statue of a graceful character remained a tribute to the undying soul of what was easily the only woman he'd ever loved. He didn't want to admit that what he was choosing to do would be potentially fatal to him either. It was, for all intensive purposes, a pack of lies to be kept to himself until they arrived. Though at the rate she was going, Vostal didn't doubt that they'd reach the platform soon.

I heard the whistle. I knew what it meant. Did I care? No. Sounded like to me he had a goal to make the perfect world, hopefully void of his lecherous ways... If I knew more, I'd love to help out how ever I could. He sounded like he had a vendetta. I slowed up a bit. I'd give the geezer some time to keep up.

"Its not my fault you can't keep up. Last time I checked, it was the man that should have all the driving energy. Not the woman." I say sarcastically flirting. I think in the back of my head, I wish Quin were here.

Even though he didn't quite think of the gesture as he carried it out, Vostal was what he was and in a slick motion gripped the girl's wrist, curling it up over her head and walking her quickly back towards a wall to grant him the advantage. A glint of dark humor passed through his eyes as he stared at her for a minute, his weight pinning her against the wall. "I'd be careful who you taunt and how, little miss," he purred ducking his face close against hers until their breaths mingled for an instant. Releasing her suddenly he pocketed his hands and pressed on. "Hurry it up," he called over an angled shoulder. "The platform that will take us to the center of the maze is just up ahead."

"T'ch, and I thought I'd get some action before I committed myself to a probable death this far under ground." I say chuckling, rubbing my wrist. I didn't like that... At all...

"Well, lets keep on walking. Do you actually need me for something after this platform?" I ask quizzically, figuring he probably did.

He shrugged off the question as if it were water off oiled feathers. "A woman's touch to make the mechanics work properly and maybe a little company. You never know. " Stopping before what appeared to be a giant bird cage, the Euphoric sighed. Damn he hated tight spaces...even barred ones. His mind flashed back to Sagmal and he found himself stopping short, absolute terror washing over his typically calm and collected face. "Shit..."
Playing it off for nothing, Vostal his his face from her casually and jerked his head in the direction of the lift. "That's it...You have magic? It just needs a nudge."

"Haha, as fate would have it, I have no magic, except my blade." I say shrugging. I begin looking around, wondering how best I could make this work since it takes a woman's touch. "Any bright Ideas? Or did you not plan this far?" I say wondering, and examining the cage a bit more.

Black toyed with Grimm over his shoulder and kept his eyes on her. It was a shame really... He didn't like he idea of hurting a woman. But it was a woman he needed most. "Can you...hear the Hymn?" he asked quietly advancing upon her. "It resounds in my head all the time. Like a calling that I can't venture towards. It's sort of irritating but..." He twirled the scythe down from its clip so that the backside of the curved blade brushed the ground near his feet. There was a malicious glint in his stare. "That hymn turns different here, did you know?" He chuckled a little darkly, "Up until now I've never really understood the lyrics."

Does it hurt you to know

He backed her into the cage much the way a hunter cornered prey and stopped only when the door snapped shut. Standing before her Vostal ran the blade of his weapon along the bars in a light clinking sound. "Sorry," he sighed. "It's nothing personal." Slipping Grimm's blade between the shield of the bars he grazed her shoulder quickly drawing a broad line of crimson from her flesh. "You go first, yeah? I'll follow soon enough."
Flipping the weapon back over his shoulder he slammed the butt against a disguised trigger just beside the cage and waved casually when it dropped abruptly down, it's lightly wounded prisoner trapped within.

"See you soon."

Blood of the innocent. Someone who had not been touched by her blessing? Someone who had not suffered the curelties of the world she had sought to revive. AH! An innocent was bleeding for her!
It was as though she were recovering from a long, long rest. The world came into focus so gradually that she did not at first realize what was changing about her. Under a spell that she alone could not break, the saint slowly, slowly opened her eyes and stretched out a hand to the one that had finally arrived in her sanctuary. Under the influence of the enchantment her skin was merely a shell of white marble. Her feet were spelled into place upon a block of humming ebony and her soul captured in a state of time that was not her own.
The girl looked so beautiful, she looked lost, tired, and injured. A poor bird trapped in a cage. That would not do. With only her silent request the cage released its prisoner into her sanctuary--a domain that was so unlike any other part of the Winmei. Water composed the floor in a mirror like fluid and the hum of a distant song echoed in a chamber that seemed to embody both light and dark at once. It was a place of solitude.
Come, come. she beckoned deep within the thoughts of the innocent woman. Please come so that I might heal your wound. The innocent should not bleed so.
How beautiful. How beautiful.

That bastard! I think to myself trying to keep my mind off the slit in my shoulder. Then all of a sudden the floor drops and I feel myself plunging downwards, I feel as if I black out a moment because I find myself looking at a gorgeous innocent.

She's trapped. How to get her out I wonder. Her voice... it reverberated through my mind. I didn't care about healing, I didn't need it. I'd live for a bit longer even with this slit in my shoulder. I advance, but begin to look about for a level, or maybe some other obvious way to get her out. My body walks on its own to her alluring form.

"How can I help you? I know that I may be hurt... But... Your trapped, my wounds can heal with time..." I say, all of my emotional hurt and derangement from the years pouring out, and what had recently been scratched by these almost not so random occurrences, coming out in the form of a protective older sister for this girl. Why was she so... Pale?

I walk, and ignore my surroundings in a trance.

With every step forward the woman snares herself further and deeper into an intricate spell. The blood that oozes from her flesh is untainted by the changed world about her. She smells of freedom and a place unknown to the saint. She smiles and says kind things.
Eyes never lifting from the girl the saint keeps her hand outstretched. All she needs...all she requires is the touch of one individual who has not been consumed by the horrific spell she cast upon the city of Faetil. One simple touch.
Beloved to me, her voice issues gently, Won't you allow me a simple embrace? The change is already happening. The saint watches fondly as her image begins to consume the woman. Yes, this will do nicely. She is a model component. The surface of the water that is the floor shows many things. As the woman strides forward her reflection changes considerably. The pink hue of her hair blackens. Her flesh becomes a soft ivory, The eyes that are hers trade their color for the Saint's.
A caress to free me from my burden. One touch.
One sacrifice.

I hear and... feel the voice caress my conscious thought. There is an increasing weight on my back, building and building. I draw Deathika and drop it on the floor. "Not today Death, She needs my help." I say oddly and overtly kind to the inanimate object.

"A simple hug?" I walk up to the girl, slowly reaching my hand to her... Then with a burst of energy, I bring myself up to her in a full embrace, even stroking the girls hair, in a comforting manner. "There there."

Ahhhh.
The embrace is so sweet it seems melancholy. As their flesh brushes, her's against the Saint's the blood that was spilled melts into the hard marble that binds the woman in place. Thin veins breach the hard shell and begin to crack the barrier easily. Chips of the white marble crust away from the Saint's cheek exposing the soft skin beneath. Once more she is full animate. Freed arms ringing around the innocent woman she smiles into the girls hair and returns the gentle strokes.
"You are so kind," she whispers as warmth returns to her. She pulls away and presses her lips to the forehead of what is now her mirror image. "For your grace I will bless you first and claim you above all others as we move to reclaim the world I was detached so forcefully from." The smile that bewitches her expression is a soft one and she shares it most warmly with the girl.
"I am Nema."
With her name the water ripples. Finally, she's awake.

I whip around the corners of the maze in a frantic uproar. NO! NO. Was it possible?! Skidding around another sharp curve in the path I am sprinting down I glance up every other second expecting the magic supports to be above me as a guide.
They are not.
Cursing I dart around another potentially incorrect bend. Is possible that he'd be so stupid as to try it?!
"Vostal," I pant picking up more speed. Could you really have been so foolish as to wake her? I pray it isn't so. I beg myself and any ounce of fate left to guide my destiny.
And yet...
When I come to the only clearing in the massive labyrinth...
There he is. Standing there as though placed by some unseen hand; a chess piece on the board of destiny.
"No," I whisper, "You didn't..."
The impulse overtakes me with rage and I uncoil the barbed whip that is my weapon of choice. "VOSTAL!"

"My name is Epiphany." I say to her returning her smile. "Forcefully? I'm not to bright when it comes to the history of..."

I hear Vostal's name from ahead and beyond, I take Nema's hand and stand in front of her protectively.

Vostal felt a chill run the length of his spine. Turning his head without letting his body follow, the Euphoric felt an expression of thorough pain wash over his face. "Why," he whispered gently, "would you be here?" Grimm dragging on the floor with a sharp scraping sound, he turned to look at her. This woman who had caused him every pain imaginable. Every thrill and hatred that he had ever known...every heartache. To see her then was another cruel blow to his reality. "Negumi." His eyes fell to her weapon also drawn between them.
Oh.
"You plan to kill me."

A smile haunted her expression and she ran her fingers through the woman's soft hair kindly. "Do not worry. We will make our escape another way."
She stepped down from the platform of ebony to touch bare, bangled feet to the water that quivered and rippled beneath her. The filmy, white acolyte gown she'd been stilled in fluttered at her heels like a swirl of white petals dancing with every movement she made. While she caught the girl's hand, Nema was reaching down to stroke her fingers along the liquid element at their feet. "Time, Space, Reality--these things now mean nothing to you or I," she said drawing symbols gracefully that swam as streams of light through the water. "You may now travel where you wish as you wish it and never think to wonder whether or not is is logical or possible. You are goddess of a world so desperately in need of one."
The liquid floor gave way to reflections of the outside world and she straightened turning to rest her gaze on her new companion. "Where then, would you care to go, my goddess?"

Being a goddess only equated to one thing. Power. Like hell I wanted any more of it.

I held my free hand out to where Deathika rested in the water. I felt the strings of reality under my fingertips. Goddess or not, this just made things easier for me every time I leave Deathika home alone. And this one in my hand already will never be lost to me. I gripped at the immaterial and pulled towards Deathika, the strands of magic and reality bending easily.

A ripple danced across the water, and in a quick spray of water an after image displayed across the water. Her father and aunt holding hands smiling, and then the image disapated. Deathika was in my hand once more. I looked to Nema, smiling and just shrugged. "Makes me keep my sanity." I say dismissing the topic.

"Well uhh... That howl of anger up there was not from the one that escorted me. Should we go up there momentarily and steal away the one named Vostal and help him?" I say, one of the reflections in the water showing my desired place of arival, showing Negumi with her weapon drawn and Vostal's deranged look of sadness and or dementia. I still was not that great with facial expressions.

I won't be strayed.
I won't.
Because the last time I gave in to that distant, petrified, and yet so deeply saddened look was the time I lost every ounce of myself to panic. I can't be weak.
I will not.
I step forward and arc the serpent up and curled to the left towards his throat. (5) "VOSTAL!" Because he is so dear to me, he is also so hated. This man is a fool. He was always that way and I realize that even while I kick back and dip into a sharp spin, the talons braided into my hair lashing out against him. (7) This man is a fool always reaching out towards things that he cannot achieve without harming himself. If he was anything else it is possible I would not love him so.
My weight shifts again and I am throwing myself to the ground, sweeping a leg under him with every intention to ground him (4).
This man is blind.
He never was...able to see the things placed before his eyes. And now, because of his stupidity one of us will die today. I do not mind.

So long as it is to open your eyes.

Vostal stepped back sighing as her whip scores by his face. It was obvious that she was more focused on killing him than anything else. A shame. Hands lifting to defend his vitals against the onslaught of the multiple barbs spiraling into his flesh as the woman dipped and twirled in an impressive series of motions Black frowned. "What the hell are you thinking this time, Hunter?" He taunted smoothly, twirling Grimm around his elbow with a slight of hand and shoving the scythe home towards her chest in a shallow swipe (6). Did he want to kill her? "Is it worth this, Negumi?" Easily, he hopped over the swift leg that shot out toward him. Retaliating he slammed the butt of his weapon down on her ankle. (5) Stepping forward he swung his free leg back and gained force and shot it forward straight at her face. (7) He spun Grimm back around his wrist and unhinged he blade from the shaft, loosing it in a heavy cascade of chainwork before casting it out towards her, hooking her shoulder blade and jerking her back to him. He ignored the wicked crunch of his blade sinking into her back. (10)
"SAY IT THEN!" He screamed, "TELL ME YOU'RE HERE TO KILL ME, NEGUMI!"

"Vostal!!!" She appeared almost from nowhere, entering the battle fray from a position out of sight of the onlookers. Damn, She thought. Her tournament opponent quickly became her real target as she saw him turn his weapon towards the woman she had just finished fighting.

Not wasting a second she loosed the butt of her weapon, flinging the blunt projectile to bury grim deeper into it's position within negumi's back(6) as she gained momentum, letting the blade fly to sweep across her neck, piercing the flesh and sending a spray of blood into the air(12)
