Be Silent. Be Still

This place that was part of her world was a space where no other could tred. It was a sanctuary in the sense that there was such profound quiet it was deafening and no other choice was given to those who entered but to take refuge in the harbor of that silence. She lay staring up at the finely curved alcoves. White like everything else.
She'd grown to hate that color since being brought here. Her lips were numbed and forgotten on her face from what was easily years of disuse. She dared to wonder how much longer she was meant to stay here. There was no more strength to her body. Her wings had all but molted away now a cushion of musty fluff about her gradually wasting body. How much longer was she going to be allowed--forced to live like this? Was this the generosity of humanity?
"--et me waste away?" Her voice was a dull croak in the echoed chamber where she rested beneath a thick glass pane set deep into the floor like a crest in a massive room guarded under lock and key. She hadn't seen the world beyond this place in almost a decade. Hope was a fading commodity.

Where am i? What is this place? The magess turned just in time to see the portal that dumped her out into this world dissipate, collapsing upon itself to vanish before her eyes. "damn." Calm blue eyes scanned the pure white scene before her, almost laughing as she could feel the vibrant purity attempting to pierce her, begging to seep into the avatar before it, to cleanse her black heart with the sheer aura surrounding the vibrant white room. She scoffed. like that would ever happen. Drawing the string to her pitch black cloak so that the long covering clung tightly to her person she slipped through the halls taking inventory of the new world. "is anyone here? "

She was weak but strong enough to press a palm to the glass above her in response to the sudden inquiry that echoed in her chamber. Was is a savior? Had the city fallen at last so that she could be removed from the torture of this place? Weakly she pressed against the glass again and did her best to make another sound after wasting her voice on the silence that had consumed every aspect of her reality. Rescue me. Save me. Free me. If she could escape, no matter the cost, surely it would be worth it? her eyes swarmed with moisture at the mere thought of freedom.

a voice? It was almost as if her senses were screaming at her as she looked down to notice the creature hidden beneath her feet. "what the hell....." Her first instinct was self preservation, evident by the drawing of the large scythe that set across her back, brandishing the pitch black weapon at the pane to stop, wondering if it would do any good to rap the blade against the barrier.


"who....... are you?"

It was difficult to hear. She simply had lost the will, the strength. Even to lift her eyelids again with each blink as she sluggishly drew her violet gaze upon the blurred form of a woman above her, she struggled. Her lungs could barely draw air now, her wings once a brilliant fan of scarlet were reduced to molt in a dusky, reddish-gray aura about her morbidly thin body. Her chapped lips worked to the best of their ability in a slurred attempt to form words that rasped with ugly tone past her parched mouth.
"E.....Eu-oria."
When the word came out as a whisper too low to be heard through the glass she instead lifted a hand and scratched out the name she'd accepted as her own on the transparent shield.

E.U.P.H.O.R.I.A

What was she doing? The girl fought to understand exactly what the woman below her was doing and then she saw the letters etched so lightly into the transparent prison. Her heart swelled, and before she realized what she was doing the words ushered from her lips, and her weapon struck the barrier with a terrifying force. "euphoria...........EUPHORIA!!!"

Her mind fought to quell the uneeded anger. was it anger? no. the expression was more of worry. but since the death of.......She stopped that thought before it slipped past her lips plaguing her mind with the memory of her fallen lover. the last person to die by her hands. As her pulse slowed she looked up greeting the angel before her. "I am amber w......no. Amber lockheart. The demon of chance. "

"The demon of chance."
As those words resounded in the impossibly large chamber something keen or unbridled joy swelled in her heart and soul. Though her conscious mind did not know why, the title was thrilling to her, a rush of relief. A demon! A demon finally! Finally? Renewed with a short spurt of adrenaline, Euphoria opened her mouth to scream, pounding with what little power she had against the glass until her bare fists became bloodied and bruised. Letting them fall back to her heaving chest she cried tears of hope and fury while the woman's weapon too struck uselessly against the wall of her cell. This barrier was much too strong for them. In her state she could do nothing. The glass was infused with multiple seals of the runic element light. There would be no unlocking it without a Dark Euphoric's blessing.
She knocked more weakly than ever on her side of the glass and pressed her hand to it. If her voice failed she could at least try a mind sync with this woman. Though it meant claiming her as her new contractor.

Again and again she slashed at the barrier, The anger behind her eyes flaring up to fill the room with an aura of hatred but still the barrier held true. "That's it. no more nice girl." Her hands dropped to her slide slipping the small pouch open to withdraw a scrap of paper. Searching her person she screamed aloud as the realization of what she was missing flowed through her being informing her right away that this was not a power she was alloted in this world.

"damn. i didn't want to do this." Her head dropped, her eyes flashing black for a moment as she summoned strength the flow of magics feeling so natural to her as she slammed her palms to the ground screaming the incantation. "ALTER SHIFT! " still nothing. it was at this point she realized the horrible truth about this world, she was on her own with only her scythe and her warriors zeal. A clamber rang out against the silent halls as her weapon touched down, The enormous scythe floating slowly to rest upon the ground at her feet. "euphoria. can you hear me?"

This woman is very...s....weet. the thought floated in and out of her exhausted mind and she closed her eyes as her body declared its limit for the time being. She'd done much more in just a few short minutes than she'd been able to in years. It was a tiring process and she wanted nothing more than to rest. The lure of unconsciousness bobbed gently through her mind and like an easily amused child she accepted the simple temptation with all the joy in the world. Just to sleep for now would be good. Just to...rest. Her eyes sealed gently shut and her head lulled to one side in the tangle of her scarlet hair and the molted mess of her shed feathers. Were this her grave it would at the least be a befitting one. She'd been here for nearly a decade of suffering, what was an eternity of peace? At least this time she had company. The weak smile that was frozen on her lips was the first in years.

She closed her eyes, allowing the same euphoric calmness to float through her being as she concentrated testing her last ability. She reached out to the angel below her, praying that at least this would work and spoke in her mind, praying the telepathy trait she had gained as a mage carried through though her magic was gone.

"can you hear me.....euphoria?" She searched the creature's still body for any sign that the though speech had worked.

From within her shallow dreams she heard the woman's call and smiled to herself. It worked...
There are others, she called through her dreams, My brother, the one who fell to this world with me carries within him an element of darkness. He can shatter light seals. Find him and do whatever it takes to gain his aid. Bring him here.

~Understood~ Her voice floated through the silence penetrating euphoria's consciousness up until the point when her body was a tiny dot at the end of the seemingly endless abyss of pure white columns.
