Epiphany's quandary. Empty
PostSubject: Epiphany''s quandary.   Epiphany's quandary. EmptyTue May 19, 2009 1:34 am

"Mommy! Why is it that daddy is never at home? Or why is it that he didn't come home last night?" The little girl sat in a chair looking at her father's prized possession. A sword that was rumored to have taken a Euphoric's life to make. As a little girl, she knew this, it was nothing special. Euphorics were just tools.

"He's at work deary." Her mother said with a somewhat sad voice, almost as if today could be the end.

"Mommy, whats the matter?"
"Uhmm... Well... Your father and I have discussed it a bit by bit, and we figured that we would tell you of what our jobs are." Her mother replied smoothly, seeming to find a reserve of strength.

"Yay! Finally, can daddy take me to work with him?"
"No sweety... Daddy is... Well, he is a Euphoric. I'm an ex contracted Laruae." Her mother stated unemotionally.

"Wait, so daddy makes the city keep those nastiness away?" She asked innocently and full of pride for her father... the actual implications of her mothers statement taking a bit longer then normal, then the moment the realization began to sink in, a light rapping came from the front door.

Her mother went, answered it, took something from a man dressed finely, and then closed the door. It was a pink Feather, when her mother got to the kitchen, she set it down... and the moment she sat down, she broke down in tears.

"Mommy! Stop, it will be alright, daddy will come home..." The little girl said innocently again, her mind taking time to actually process the information. She saw the feather, it was Pink, just like her hair. Just like her father's... She screamed and began to cry along with her mother. Her mother pulled the little girl over to her, and the little girl reached for her father's feather. It seemed like the right thing to do, it seemed to call to her.

She was enveloped by a vision, or epiphany, it was simple enough, it was of her father fighting, inserting this exact same feather into the hilt of the massive sword. They fit perfectly... And there was a woman who was sitting nearby who looked just like her father... some what like her... The little girl knew she had an Aunt, but never saw her. Then the lady was slayed mercilessly by the sword in her father's hands. It took her life and absorbed it till it turned black, seeming ever more hungry.

The little girl came out of her reverie slowly, looking up to where her mother had been standing, but a sword hilt up was where she had been. It was vibrating violently until she left the epiphany entirely. She looked down, and was still holding the feather, fascinated by it.

Then it dawned on her next, the blade impaled her mother from the top of her skull to the floor, her mother's face and body looking eviscerated.

"Mommy?" The mother's body fell forward and the girl hopped back a few feet, and the sword seemed to be drawn to her, even in the midst of her dead mother.

The girl not understanding everything that had happened, finally broke down in a heap crying over her dead mother, and Deathika looming ominously overhead, akin to a sentry.
