Slipping past the sea of faces Amber lowered the hood hiding her face and releasing the weapon on her back from the loop holding it to brandish the weapon at the people crowding the corridor so far off from the main streets. "i have heard that this is the place for those seeking information......AND IF SOMEONE DOESNT PROVIDE SOME ON THE MALE EUPHORIC THERE WILL BE PROBLEMS!" She gave the masses a terrifying smile pulsing her eyes to emphasize the anger radiating from them onto the scum before her.

I hadn't wandered three blocks from the Nightmares Win hotel when the shrill demands of a clearly drugged and deranged woman called my attention to the trade district. I'd already passed the shabby allies but upon the obnoxious beckoning I couldn't resist and quickly turned heel to head back. Poking my head around the corner I peered down the district streets a little ways into the market and my eye caught the cowled form of what was more than likely to be the cause of all the hullabaloo.
I chuckled. This is what happened to the residents when the barriers swayed and the humidity kicked up. Approaching the tangled mess the lunatic was causing I eased calming gestures in the view of the bewildered shoppers and innocents caught up in the chaos. "Easy, I've got it, carry on."
Sliding by a youth in my way I rested a hand on the straps holding my lance at my back and snapped my fingers to grab the woman's attention without giving her a physical reason to attack me. "Excuse me.."

bingo. She spun on her heels flashing the enormous scythe in a perfect arc just above the heads of the onlookers causing the crowds to back to a safe distance before she pointed The tip at her weapon, almost begging him to give her a reason. Looking into his eyes her wrist went limp, Dropping the domia scythe for a second before she coaxed the muscles back to their full strength catching it right before the top of the blade met with the hard ground below them. Why did she feel like this newcomer wasnt a threat?

"yes?" Her answer was simple. no intricate explanations of her strength or arrogant run ons about his luck to be spared by the girl called demon of chance. Her earlier display of force was well enough to keep the masses at bay, and something told her not to waste the words..

What amusing eyes. I let my hand fall away back to my side and smiled in a way that could only be considered comforted. Good. This one was sane after all. That at the least would save me some time and effort. I let out the breath I hadn't been aware was held captive in my lungs and sighed, picking my hand from my own weapon and looked quickly about us making sure there was no harm done to the innocents. When I was satisfied I returned my cerulean stare to the woman. She was shorter than I was as was to be expected. It looked as though under the mess of her otherworldly clothing she might have a fighter's lean build or at least the beginnings of it. I wasn't sure if her style was meant to draw attention or seem retro. Sharing a mental chuckle with the cliff notes being composed on her in my thoughts I did what I could to stay focused. "You shouldn't go about shouting," I said calmly and in such low tones as to keep our conversation from keen ears. "Especially so close to the Ebon Trade. If the city guards hear you riling up like that you'll be arrested."

“Elerin!” She threw herself to him and flared a vicious look at the woman in his company. Tucking her chin into the hook where his shoulder met his neck she hissed a question into his ear discreetly. “Who’s this?” drawing back from him Felic looked her defender in the eye and silently expressed her tantrum of jealousy. “I missed you at the hotel,” she chimed in tones much too sweet for her current mindset. This alley stunk of crime and passionately violent people. She threw her attention from Elerin to the woman and back.

Blinking I absently hugged the Euphoric who once again had found her way back into my arms in response to some unknown cue that seemed to bring her running. Felimay smelled of sugar and the garden in the Angel’s Crest. I’d become more and more accustomed to and appreciative of the aroma. With the whispered words she’d slipped to me I felt an unexpected chill run its course through me. Was she…jealous?
When she pulled away and fixed me with one of the most fearsome expression I’d ever known her to possess, my unspoken question was answered loud and clear. Flushing a rueful red I averted my gaze from her and swallowed the knot in my throat.
"This is..." I looked to my new acquaintance hopefully.

"Amber. Amber w..... lockheart. amber lockheart. " Whe did she stop? why did she have a need to take the other girl's name? was it respect for the fallen love? A war raged inside her mind as she considered the reasons why she chose the girls name over her own, fighting with herself to regain what little sanity she maintained, and using what little concentration she could muster to keep up her mask and hide her tribulations from the two outsiders.

"they call me Amber. the demon of chance."

There was a large commotion in the trade district, an infamous criminal had just been apprehended. He had remained at large for some time now and finally the guards were able to successfully capture him. Just when the fugitive had almost eluded arrest once again, he began to writhe on the ground in pain in mid pursuit. Taking any and all precautions they began to secure the captor for transport, binding him in what seemed like a full-body straight jacket, where he would be taken to prison for the remainder of his life.

At long last a connection was established, after what seemed like an eternity of swimming through nothingness a suitable host was located within the dimension. The transition was painless, at least I didn't think the incessant screaming came from me. I entered the body eager to test its capabilities, however my enthusiasm was met with several restraints. It was pure torture, the aroma of panic and fear was within arms reach though the bonds that held me from head to toe did not permit me to partake. It was difficult to gauge my situation due to the heavy mask that covered my face, but it was apparent that i was being taken into custody by the natives and judging by the fresh flavor that was left in my mouth, the person before me was guilty of sharing the same tastes.

Suddenly, he caught a waft of a familiar smell...

Felic frowned, a feeling of dread overwhelming her. A...demon. She eased herself away from Elerin and threw a sharp look at the new woman that had so recklessly encountered her knight. Why did she feel such dread? Why was her body suddenly stiff with the deceleration? No longer wishing to remain in their company and well trusting Elerin's ability to defend himself and any other in a bad situation the Euphoric bounced up to peck his cheek and inform him of her decision to leave them be.
She bounded off back the way she'd come and encountered a stupidly large clutter of people where Midway met the Inner city. Her frown deepened from thoughtful to curious and she began the task of weaving in between the chattering bodies to find what in the world had attracted to much attention.

She perked up, lost in the feeling of dread that washed over the entire area as the prisoner was escorted past them. All at once she knew that feeling. the pure unadulterated terror that pierced through her very being...... it was him. With a flick of her wrist the scythe snapped apart, the staff sectioned links wrapping around her body to build momentum. This could be dificult, She thought setting up her shot. it had been so long since the had used her trademarked weapon..... since the girl's death.

Releasing her weapon from it's position around her body she studied the movement waiting for the perfect time, calculating every possible factor. This would have to be perfect. precise. Her mind ran through the numbers, a mental image of the prisoner she knew to be Diemos flashing in front of her, where she expected to him to be, his body hidden from her eyes by the four large guards surrounding him. As the blade neared her targets she spun on her heels whipping the chain back, and shifting the blade's direction to sweep across the guard's heads, The pitch black blade practically invisible as it swept through almost seeming miss to due to the Clean swipe.

"for the love of god diemos, keep your posture." She knew his style. She knew too well the foot or two extra of hight he hid by his slouching posture, and she also knew that that would be his saving grace in this situation. Moments passed in silence, the small squad of inforcers not moving an inch. Then, all at once, each of their heads simply rolled off, their bodies peeling from the creature like the peel of a banana. As the final official hit the ground her weapon returned clicking back together the grinding of metal chains retracting into the staff a symphony to her deprived senses. it had been too long.

Whether intentional or accidental, not seconds after the headless bodies of his captors hit the ground a large majority if the straps and buckles slouched and shed to his feet. Slowly he traced the material over his face with his hand, his fingers fumbling over the zipper across his eyes. Vision was a necessity, it was apparent that Thanatos was not going to assists him in this world. Finding the metallic tab he pulled open the slit in his mask revealing his eyes to this new dimension. Two black eyes struggled to focus, darting every which way trying to locate the one who had rescued him though all he could see was the crowd of spectators that were now fleeing for their lives. Admittedly, it was hard to concentrate surrounded by the sweet smell of blood.

It was all to familiar. the outfit, the posture, everything about the demon screamed of her most trusted, though warped, ally.

"diemos. it seems we are fated to help one another."

I witnessed the display in such a nonchalant manner I surprised even myself. Rather than bothering to interfere with the clearly psychotic affairs taking place, I turned the majority of my concern to Felimay's untimely vanishing act and felt my blood pressure rise dramatically. Damn her! Hurriedly I released my Blare Lance from my shoulder and charged by my acquaintance in search of the one woman I simply couldn't afford to lose. Why the hell I had to be charged with such a random, fleetingly frivolous woman was beyond me! Were it not for my now deep-set love of the creature there would be no point in constantly attempting to keep tabs on her.
